FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I meet the puppies and their parents?
A: We are very proud of all of our dogs and we would love the chance to show them off. You can meet any of our available puppies and any of our adult dogs. You can also meet Takoda if you would like, she may not be AKC or even a pure bred but we love her just as much! Because we only own one male dog at this time, in some cases meeting the father dog is not feasible. We do always have pictures of the sire we have used.

Q: What happens if I can no longer keep or care for my puppy?
A: If at any point in your puppies life you are unable to care for him or her we will gladly take them back into our home. We ask that you never give the puppy away, sell the puppy, or place it in a shelter. This means from 8 weeks old to 20 years old! Please call us first!

Q: Will my puppy have it's shots or a health certificate?

A: ALL puppies will receive their shots prior to leaving our home. First shots are given at 6-8 weeks, second set  8-12 weeks, depending on the size and weight of the puppy. You will get these records when your puppy leaves our home.  All traveling puppies will have a health certificate issued from a veterinarian. This certificate is good for 7 days from the puppy leaving our home.

Q: Do Shorkie or Morkie breeds shed much?
A: No, both breeds are non-shedding and normally do very well in homes where someone has a dog allergy.

Q: Is there anything special I should know about the care of my puppy?
A: Puppies will take time and care in grooming. You will need to brush your puppies hair each day. By 6 months of age your puppy will have a very long  coat that needs 10-15 minuets each day and a bath each week. If not cut your puppy's adult coat will touch the floor. If you do not have the time or do not like the floor length coat, these dogs are adorable in a short, even shaved coats.  Remember, Painful mats can develop in as little as a few days if the coat is not brushed. This HURTS! So remember to groom your baby. Great care should be taken when letting a child hold a toy breed puppy. They are small and fragile. If dropped they can be seriously injured. Toy breeds have tiny teeth, it is best to use a dog with small kibble. Large kibble is easy to choke on and also hard for them to chew and promotes swallowing food whole. Your local pet store will also carry tiny bones for treats.

Here are a few tried and true things we enjoy and thought you might too!

Tarts!  I have been using these for years. I love the way they make the house smell. You can get many scents. From baby smells to hot apple pie or muffins.
The great thing about these is they are made of soy wax. If a child or a puppy happens to spill these it is easy to clean up with soap and water. It even comes out of carpet. Trust me I know!
